  • For every decibel SNR reduction of hearing status, distress and somatisation increased by 2%, odds for developing depression increased by 5%.
  • Odds for developing severe or very severe loneliness  increased by 7% for every dB SNR reduction in hearing.
  • Findings underline the need to seriously address the effects of hearing loss  among young and middle aged adults.
