Adult Hearing is excited to offer our community a digital copy of My Hearing Challenge!, a new book on hearing loss by Rob Beenders.
My Hearing Challenge! is Rob’s personal story of how a simple infection caused severe hearing loss. It tells the story of his hearing journey, and the impact it had on his loved ones – his partner, family, friends, and colleagues.
Rob hopes that his story inspires others and provides insight into hearing loss, to help reduce the taboo around the subject. As well as highlighting his own journey, he also includes testimonials from others who have dealt with hearing loss in their own ways.
Rob Bendeers is a former council member of the City of Hasselt and former member of the Flemish parliament. He does not see himself as someone suffering from hearing loss, even though he wears a cochlear implant on his left side and a compatible hearing aid on his right side. He works full time, has a busy social life, and is an active runner.
